March 4, 2009

I’m in an extremely good mood today.  Got up and exercised this morning.  It made me feel good.  And it gave me confidence that I was over my sickness from last Friday through Monday and a bit of Tuesday.  It also made me realize that it’s a small price to pay for good health.  I honestly thought it would be more difficult getting back on the treadmill after a 4-day break from it.

Kelly and I went to eat at Kappis Steakhouse last night.  They’ve got a fairly decent bar.  The variety was good enough to allow me to eat heartily but without consuming fried food, potatoes, or sugary foods.  Their black-eyed peas weren’t good at all.  They had some kind of flavoring in them…YUCK.  The corn was good though (just needed salt…and didn’t seem to be cooked in pure butter).  The BBQ chicken was okay.  The thing I liked the most was the cold BBQ pork and the polish sausage and onions.  Yummy!!!  I wish the BBQ pork had of been hot…but it was still MUCH better than the black eyed peas.

I had planned on going to bed early last night, but we had to get some grocery shopping done.  I got to bed at about 10 o’clock or so.  I slept really good though (as I was already tired and ready for bed).  So, it was lights out as soon as my head hit the pillow (pretty much).  Anyway…

I got up this morning (as already stated)…did my morning thing and feel like $1000.  Kelly and I bought a tape measure to measure my neck, waist, and hips.  GHASTLY numbers ahead.  Neck was 18”.  Waist was a whopping 60”.  And my hips were a frightening 56”.  I wish I had of seen what these measurements were before I started the diet.  But, oh well.  I’ve at least got a starting point.

Can you believe those garment tape measures go up to 288”?  I was shocked.  Anyway.  Until tomorrow!
